Cooking-Wednesday: Treats 1st!

Hey everyone!
It's Cooking-Wednesday!
And since the only thing you've ever read about my cooking has been a disaster, I thought I'd start with something easy - something that doesn't need to be put in the oven! ;)

Anniversary, Birthday, and No-Reason-At-All Ice Cream Cake
(I got this recipe here, from my sweet sister-in-law)
1/3 Cup Butter. Melted.
1 Package of Oreo Cookies
1/2 Gallon of Ice Cream (any flavor works!)
8oz. of Fat Free Cool Whip (Fat Free? Try it. It's good.)
15oz. of Chocolate Syrup/ Caramel Syrup
Handful of chopped nuts



Directions:

Prep Time: 30 mins Total Time: 30 mins

1) Use blender to mash up cookies.
2) Save 1 cup mashed cookies for topping.
3) Mix remainder of cookies with butter.
4) Spread in 9x13 pan.
5) Layer melted ice cream on top.
6) Pour syrup over ice cream.
7) Freeze 15 minutes to somewhat harden chocolate.
8) Spread Cool Whip over your ice cream/syrup layer.
9) Sprinkle the cup of cookie crumbs on top of Cool Whip layer.
10) Add chopped nuts (if desired)
11) Keep frozen. Allow 10 minutes thaw time before serving. (Or just dig in - you'll find the strength to cut through that ice cream) ;)








Yummiest and easiest cake ever! I love it.
Wonder what we'll be having in August for our 2-year anniversary? This cake. For husband's birthday? You got it. For halloween? Yup. Thanksgiving? You know it. Annabelle's 1st birthday? That's right. Christmas? Double that order. New Year's? All.Day.Long.

Next week I'll teach you how to make the rolls seen in the background of Step 8./9. They're my mom's and according to Will (Marie's husband): "These are the best rolls I've ever eaten. You don't even have to smother them in butter and jam - They're soo good!"
